CHEWY RUBS

Chewy Rubs immersed in an eclectic mix of music. He learned to mix rather than learning to drive, wisely buying his first 1200’s instead of a car. He passed his test with flying colors and first graced the wheels of steel in his hometown of Hereford at the legendary ‘Naughty But Nice’ during the mid-nineties.

Having moved to Glasgow and then onto London he continued his musical education by working in a central London vinyl emporium where the endless supply of fresh vinyl, back catalogues and being encircled by renowned independent shops like fat Cat, Black Market, Sista Ray and Phonica meant he could continuously indulge his passion for rare, limited edition and imported wax.

Production was a natural next step and after mastering Ableton and with the help of Soundcloud, his influences gelled into the Chewy Rubs sound.

A steady tranche of killer edits followed and support has come from Greg Wilson, Tiger & Woods, Derek Kaye, Danny Krivit, Fingerman & Yam Who? along with a growing global fan base across social media by those who just love to Disco.

ian upfold

Ian absorbed many musical genres from an early age and his love for what he heard has carried with him ever since. After listening to his Mum playing Rock ‘n’ Roll and Motown records in the early years he picked up the guitar aged 8 before later being exposed to the likes of Orbital and Underworld.

In the mid 90s he was listening to more House music that soon lead to purchasing his first set of decks and his older brothers mate then taught him the ropes. DJing was everything with hours spent absorbing the Derek Carter, DJ Sneak and Green Velvet records he loved to play, but he began thinking more about music production.

Ian studied Music Tech about 20 years ago where his love of synthesis and sound itself took hold, with the Roland Juno 6 the main blame and he never forgets the first time he got his hands on one. The natural step then was building a studio setup and dive in deep, with a Juno under one arm.

The music direction changed for a number of years where he co-founded, co-wrote and produced an electronic 4 piece band, exploring live recording, performance and playing live over the UK, while getting air play on the likes of BBC 6 Music and Radio 1 - this was a hugely valuable time. Once this chapter closed the confidence gained and understanding remained meaning the focus was then back on his own productions.

After a number of years spent honing his trade he emerged with his debut solo, 30 & Rolling EP, released Dec 2018 on Bandolier Records and reaching No.1 in the JunoDownload charts. This was followed up with his Secret Combination EP in July 2019 and he’s got another before the year is out. He has also had other label interest so keep your ears to the ground if you like what he’s producing.

FINGERMAN

Originating from Brighton, UK and currently based in Belfast, Gregg Holmes AKA Fingerman has moved between styles ranging from Techno to House before finding his feet with Disco in the past 10 years.

He set up a vinyl residency at the legendary Casablanca Jazz club spinning strictly extended disco twelves which led to his own DJ friendly edits surfacing on Soundcloud and Bandcamp.

His editing style soon caught the ears of many respected DJs on the scene such as Dimitri in Paris and Greg Wilson (who has charted Fingerman edits consecutively for the past 5 years even to the point of releasing a few of them on his own vinyl imprint A&R edits)Fingerman set up his own record label “Hot Digits Music” in 2014 after releasing tracks and remixing on labels such as Midnight Riot, Masterworks, Hotbox Boogie, Wall Of Fame and Discodat.

The label, alongside vinyl only offshoot “Wax Digits”, has been placed at the coveted number one slot on Juno on several occasions releasing up and coming, established editors and original artists such as Dr Packer, Late Nite Tuff Guy, OOFT!, Situation, Get Down Edits, Dave Gerrard, Andy Buchan, P-Sol and Melon Bomb to name but a few.

CHUGGIN EDITS

Chuggin Edits resides from Essex England and is the CO Partner of Slightly Transformed records

Given the title " Illusive" by Seamus Haji , I try to keep myself to myself and keep out of the spotlight shying away from an industry full of self promotion and social media (please don't ask me for a photo)

I started to listen to the likes of 80s Child and fingerman many many years ago being influenced by them two to make my own music and have now been editing music for about 5 years working with the pair of them on their own labels and heroes such as Seamus Haji My music has been released through Bandolier / RE loved Records/ Hot Digits / Masterworks / and many more , and having my music championed by Craig Charles on his bbc6 radio CCFSS

My passion is music full stop i don't care what it is as long as that groove is there but really its Soul and Disco and then of course the progression to house music

I have unofficially retired from djing Calling it a day Chirstmas 2018 after djing with the Craig Charles Funk n Soul Show which i thought would be a good way to bow out…… but as the offers still come i may never never say never again.

I have performed with the legendary Soul II Soul in the summer of 2015 warming up for them at private parties in the balearics and was recently asked to work alongside Levis USA to edit a track for their new advertising campaign

2019 has been a quiet year for myself as i stopped editing Christmas 2018 releasing one EP this year via alpaca records which stayed at number 3 for nearly two weeks

I finally got myself back into the studio in August 2019 making enough music for 2 new EP's due winter 2019/spring 2020 on Slightly Transformed
